The Eighth Day Of Our Strike Is Nearing Its End – “One Day Longer, One Day Stronger”
[ad_1]
The eighth day of our strike is almost in the books, and our negotiating team is trying its best to work with district leadership who does not seem to share a sense of urgency to get 40,000 students back to class.
We’ll see what happens later tonight and during the weekend.
Here are some updates:
It’s difficult 4 me 2 understand why schl district w/ its coffers full would treat @SacTeachers & @seiu1021 this way. With all vacancies they have, does dist leadership believe their actions r going 2 make @officialSCUSD an attractive destination? Our students will suffer 4 it

Today is the 1st. Rent is due & the lowest-paid Sac City Schools workers worry about how they’ll pay it as @officialSCUSD continues to stall & play games, hoping to break min wage employees thru desperation. It’s immoral & we won’t give up. @sacteachers https://t.co/ZdGrVobVQG

Mothers of Sac City students are demanding a meeting with Superintendent Aguilar to urge him to work with educators! They have said they will not leave until it happens and stayed overnight. It’s safe to say that Cesar Chavez would be proud 💫 #SacCitySolidarity #SCTA4Students pic.twitter.com/eKGHvxkQwH

Today I had the opportunity to interview three siblings on @ABC10 who are all on strike together at Sac City Unified. Combined, they’ve dedicated 60+ years of service to Sacramento students. Their message to the district here: https://t.co/66vdht77K3 @seiu1021
