The candidates for all India Services like Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, and Indian Forest Service are selected through Civil Service Exam which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Preparation during School:
School days are the days when the children start to explore the world. Don’t force your kid to prepare for the IAS exam during their school days itself. It will be an overburden for them. There are two optional papers for about 300 marks in the IAS main exam and the candidates can select it on their own choices. Some of the optional subjects are statistics, Agriculture, History, Physics, Zoology, Botany, law, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science. If you are learning any of the above-mentioned subjects during your graduation then concentrate on those subjects and learn it with deep understanding. It will be helpful for you in selecting the optional paper for IAS main exam. Try choosing the subject in which you have interest and confidence that you can score good marks.
The serious preparation for the civil service exam should start by the age of 21 to 23. The career growth for the young candidates will be good so try joining the administrative service as early as possible. The probability of clearing the exam is high for the young aspirants since they have a sharp and young minds. At least spend two to three years fully for the exam preparation without any other burden or stress. If your aim is to become an IAS or IPS officer but at present if you are working as an employee start your preparation immediately because there is a restriction with the number of attempts.
