[ad_1]
Show students how much fun teamwork can be by diving into the pro-social animated world of LaGolda. Inspire students to embrace collaboration and develop core social-emotional skills that they can use to keep their heads in the game—no matter what life throws their way.
Tackling Challenges Together
A series of fun animated videos and hands-on companion activities invite students to explore valuable SEL competencies alongside LaGolda and her growing group of friends. Educators can use the resources as a framework to address everyday challenges students face, while kickstarting conversations around important real-world topics like Technology, Hunger, and Inclusion.
The animated series celebrates the power of teamwork to overcome obstacles, showing students in grades 3–5 how social awareness can be used to positively impact life for themselves and others. As LaGolda and friends travel the world, they encounter a diverse range of people and learn to embrace unique perspectives.
A Winning SEL Gameplan
Each LaGolda student activity brings to life the theme covered in the corresponding video, and is also aligned to a key social-emotional learning competency that can be used to guide lessons. Educators can engage students from all backgrounds with pro-social experiential learning designed to create more inclusive classrooms and schools.
Putting SEL Skills into Action
LaGolda resources create timely and relevant real-world connections to essential SEL topics, encouraging students to reflect and share on their own feelings about important issues. Educators can incorporate grade-level appropriate data provided in the activities to get students thinking about critical subjects:
- Technology: How much does tech impact students’ emotional wellness
- Gender Equality: Watch how LaGolda and team cheer on boys and girls equally.
- Hunger: Explore the realities of food insecurity in the United States with real data.
- Accomplishing Goals: Empower students to create their own SMART goals for success.
The student activities are standards-aligned and flexibly designed for 45–60 minute sessions. LaGolda was designed by UnitedHealthcare and Discovery Education to inspire the healthiest generation yet, through interactive resources available on the LaGolda SEL Resources by United Healthcare channel in Discovery Education’s K–12 learning platform.
